QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Mr Paul Jairaj is a British and Internationally trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with fifteen years’ consultant experience in hip and knee surgery. He has consulted in Central London in private practice from early on in his orthopaedic career, seeing over 2000 patients per year.
Paul’s surgical training was on the prestigious Imperial College Scheme obtaining the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Eng) qualification and significantly more hours of experience given it was before the European Working Time Directive hour limitations. At the end of his training he undertook visiting Fellowships at Centers of Excellence across the United States including Harvard and The Hospital for Special Surgery New York, as well as a French Fellowship at the Clinique du Sport in Bordeaux.
This difference in training and experience has shaped Paul’s views on how the very best healthcare can be provided in the UK. This involves thorough history taking and examination, utilisation of the latest diagnostic imaging techniques to achieve the precise diagnosis, and then provide the correct management for the patient’s individual needs. This may include the latest surgical technologies not available in standard healthcare.
Shared decision making discussing the pros and cons of multiple treatment options with other allied health professionals in a multi-disciplinary approach is one of Paul’s core beliefs and practice. Patients can be seen within days of contact and potentially the same day.
Paul attends multiple national and international meetings each year so he can offer the very latest advice and experience on a portfolio of available latest treatments where he remains at the forefront of what is tried, tested and proven.
