Knee Arthroscopic Surgery

Following an accident skiing in February 2020, I was diagnosed with a severed ACL and I had also injured the LCL and MCL as well as well as my other knee but decided to focus on the ACL first.

Mr Jairaj was able to confirm this diagnosis quickly and helped me work on a treatment plan which would involve ACL reconstruction surgery. Whilst COVID interfered with the date of my surgery (delaying it by 3 months) that actually made little difference. We embarked on a multi-disciplinary approach and Mr Jairaj was more than happy to involve my Physio (Stuart Wardle) and my Personal Trainer (Kevin McAlister) and through this engagement, my pre-surgery rehabilitation significantly improved my injury ahead of surgery. This has resulted in a far quicker recovery and at 11 months post surgery, I was playing hockey, running and was pain free and with a stronger knee than before.

In July 2023, we made the decision it was time to investigate the issues with my other knee.  An injection improved things so we opted to undertake surgery and Mr Jairaj performed a multiple arthroscopic operation on my knee (including meniscectomy and chondroplasty). I have again had a great recovery and am working hard on the physio and exercise and hope to be fully fit by early in 2024.

What I liked most about Mr Jairaj was his reassuring communication style and also his clear surgical talents as I had very little pain afterwards. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
